The last Journey

Luis Buñuel visited Spain for the last time in March 1980. Against his initial wishes, the Aragonese director accepted an invitation from the Union of Film Writers, who wanted to pay tribute to him as part of the 1st Film Critics Week in Madrid. Buñuel, who did not like tributes, perhaps decided to make this journey from Mexico thinking that it would almost certainly be the last to his country.
In the year of the centenary of his birth, the exhibition Buñuel, the Last Journey recalls the director's last visit to Madrid and is a graphic review of his complete filmography. The show is made up of 119 photographs, 16 posters and other documentary material, and its aim is to show the people the life and work of the most brilliant Spanish film director.
