Reflections on Chaplin is a tribute to Chaplin the filmmaker. It starts with a question: What is Chaplin's legacy for contemporary creators? The four filmmakers taking part in the exhibition have asked themselves the question starting from the idea that this filmmaker who made his mark on the twentieth century is someone who can still be relevant in the twenty-first.
His staging lessons are not the patrimony of the past and can still be relevant when the analogical image gives way to the digital. It is not a case of filming like Chaplin, nor of making yet another of the many naïf tributes that have been made of his icon; it is simply a case of seeing what reflections of his films may be present in the contemporary image.
