In the mid-1950s, the world was slowly beginning to emerge from the economic hardships of the post-war period, and globally, a tough competitor in cinema appeared - television. The Nicolau brothers immediately sensed the popularity that this new audiovisual technology could have and adapted it to the Cine NIC. In a short time, they devised and marketed new models: NIC TV Cartón, NIC TV Sonoro Metálico, TV Super NIC and Reflex NIC. The type of projection was the same as the previous ones with the only difference that, instead of projecting on an external screen or on the wall, it was an internal projection system, by retro-projection, on a small translucent screen located in front of the focus of the projector, which imitated the shape of a small television. The aim was to turn the Cine NIC into the NIC Televisión, that is, a simulation of the television set, which would soon begin to enter all homes.
