Comprising 1,029 objects that illustrate the diversity of contents and formats that characterized domestic children's cinema devices between 1930 and 2000, especially those of the Cine NIC brand, its variants, and its international expansion.
The Enric Soler i Raspall Collection comprises 1,029 objects, of which 83 are projectors or viewers, 517 correspond to films or image strips for the devices, 170 are documents related to children's cinema, and 260 are other elements. In addition to these items, 7 binders containing reproduced documentation relating to patents, instruction manuals, advertising, and articles about children's cinema projectors have also been donated to the Cinema Museum.
The collection is built around Cine NIC, the Catalan cinematic toy patented in 1931 by the Nicolau brothers. It is an animated cartoon projector aimed at children that achieved significant international recognition and inspired numerous models in Europe and the Americas. The donated collection includes international variants, such as NIC models from the United States, France, Italy, and Germany, as well as other popular projectors such as Cine Graf, Roynel, Jolly Theatre, Disney-Land Projector, and Cinexin.
