In the sessions of this series, we will dissect and break down the parts of a film to thoroughly explore its structure. We will discuss technical aspects, editing, narrative features, characters, performances, styles, temporality, cinematography, aesthetics, and the viewer’s position in relation to the film. A subtle analysis carried out by film critics and professors. Three hours in which you can immerse yourselves in some of the greatest works in the history of cinema.
In this session, film critic Àngel Quintana and Jordi Aspa Tricas and Bet Miralta Clusellas, from the Escarlata Circus company, dissect for us:
La Strada by Federico Fellini (Italy, 1954), 95 minutes, VOSE
When Gelsomina’s father dies, her own mother sells her to a traveling performer, Zampanó. Despite his violent and aggressive nature, the young woman feels drawn to this life on the strada (street, in Italian), especially when her master includes her as part of his show.
Schedule: From 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Teachers: Àngel Quintana (film critic and teacher) and Jordi Aspa Tricas and Bet Miralta Clusellas, members of the Escarlata Circus company.
