During these special days, visitors will be able to watch videos throughout the museum's permanent exhibition.
In the videos, Tomàs Mallol talks about objects from his collection of early cinema and pre-cinema. Visitors can hear his voice and learn how the objects work and why they are important. The project is very educational and shows the history of cinema.
The videos were recorded in 1995 at Mallol's home in Torroella de Fluvià, one year after the City Council of Girona bought his collection to create the Cinema Museum. There are 21 hours of recordings. The videos were filmed by Tomàs Pladevall, Alejandro Piulats, and Joan Mallarach, and later digitized and edited by Salvador Àngel Batlle.
Visitors can watch a video called Tomàs Mallol: Biographical Notes, where he talks about his childhood and his love of cinema. In the space called The Dream Factory, the museum also shows the documentary Vicente Arroyo. The Oscar Collector, about collector Vicenç Arroyo from Barcelona.
In 2010, Vicenç Arroyo gave his collection to the Cinema Museum. It has more than 20,200 photographs of actors, actresses, and directors, many with original autographs. The collection also includes programs, documents, books, and other cinema materials.
