The donation brings together projectors, accessories and documentation related to children's cinema produced between 1930 and 2003, including iconic pieces from the Cine NIC and its international variants.

The Museum of Cinema has expanded its collection with the Enric Soler i Raspall Collection, a donation of 1,029 objects related to children's cinema. The collection includes projectors, films and documents, and shows what cinema for children was like between 1930 and 2003, with a special focus on the Cine NIC and its international models.

The presentation of the donation was attended by representatives of the Girona City Council, the Museum of Cinema Foundation, the museum's director and the collector Enric Soler i Raspall.

Children's cinema devices played an important role in the 20th century. They helped children become familiar with audiovisual language and brought cinema into the home as a playful and educational activity.

The collection contains 83 projectors or viewers, 517 films and film strips, 170 documents and manuals, and other materials. At the heart of the collection is the Cine NIC, a Catalan children's projector created in 1931, which became very popular in many countries. The collection also includes other well-known projectors such as Cinexin and the Disney-Land Projector.

Enric Soler i Raspall, a writer and collector, began gathering these objects in the year 2000. With this donation, the Museum of Cinema preserves and shares a valuable cultural heritage.

Thanks to this contribution, the Museum of Cinema now holds one of the most complete collections in Europe dedicated to 20th-century children's cinema.
