(Seventh) Art

The invention of the cinema over a hundred years ago was a fundamental event that changed the way we see the world. The contemporary visual arts, which have made use of all the discoveries and technical innovations of the century, were not immune to such an extraordinary tool. On one hand, the language of the cinema - its narrative and plastic values - has been incorporated into that of the visual arts on many occasions. But so have its basic principles, like the projections of images on a surface or the illusion of motion.
The artists present in (Seventh) Art use this starting point to look at themes including the fleetingness of our memory, the plastic values of representation and the meaning of time.
