Light and Shade of the Legend
Fifty years ago Norma Jean Baker, known the world over as Marilyn Monroe, died at home in strange circumstances. Her death put a sudden end to the intense life of an actress who had been catapulted to the peaks of popularity by the cinema. But out of her disappearance came the legend of Marilyn Monroe, which has survived unaltered for the half century since her death, and time has does nothing to erode the magnetism of this actress.
The artist-painter Frederic Cabanas, with documents, photographs and objects from his Marilyn Monroe archive, rediscovers for us the light and shade of one of the great Hollywood legends who filled cinema screens all over the world with dreams and happiness.
