A proposal that invites you to discover the relationship that exists, and has always existed, between music and cinema.

What would you do when watching a movie without sound? Would you accept it, or would you rather demand the music and sound effects that should accompany the images? And if you had to create the sound, music, and sound effects yourselves, improvising them?

This proposal invites you to discover the relationship that exists, and has always existed, between music and cinema. Come to the Museum of Cinema and play. You will create your own soundtrack with the most basic elements. Let these elements transport you through your imagination into the musical world of films.

With the resources provided by the museum, you will experiment with how music and sound elements describe and complement an image. You will create music using keyboards and percussion instruments, and sound effects with various elements, such as water.

The activity is complemented by a visit to the museum’s permanent exhibition, where you will see that the relationship between music and image is as old as humanity itself.

Objectives

- Appreciate the function, relationship, and influence of music in cinema and audiovisual arts by watching a film without sound and creating a musical piece to accompany it.
- Understand that sound and musical effects have accompanied visual spectacles throughout history.
- Create the soundtrack for an animated sequence.
- Encourage teamwork and value well-done work.
- Learn to appreciate and respect the cultural heritage displayed in the museum.

3 hours (guided museum tour and music workshop).

Price

9 EUR per student (groups of 19 students or more) / 180 EUR per group (groups of fewer than 19 students).
