Photography laboratory

Secondary school

Activity focused on the technique of capturing and fixing images. We will learn how to take a photograph with a camera obscura.

We will visit the Museum's rooms to understand the transition from capturing the image to fixing it, from its origins with the camera obscura to the first cameras used for photography. In the realm of photography, we will explore how the photographic technique evolved through the contributions of various inventors in terms of devices, exposure time, supports, and chemical emulsions, as well as the social uses that resulted.

In the workshop, we will take an outdoor photograph with a camera obscura and develop it, in order to experiment with all the concepts explained earlier. Through experimentation with the camera obscura, we will be able to take photographs in any format (anamorphic, stereoscopic), always following the same process and logic.

In case of rain or bad weather, we will experiment with indoor photography.
