Shadow theatre: the first cinema

Primary school (ages 8 - 10)

Activity to learn about and discover the world of shadows through shadow theatre representation.

This proposal aims to introduce young children to the magical and fascinating world of shadows through shadow theatre. During the museum visit, in the shadow space, the children will discover the characteristics of these performances, considered the oldest precursor of cinema.

The visit is complemented with a practical part where the children will experiment, while playing, with some concepts related to shadows: light, opacity, translucent shadows... as well as the expressive capabilities of the shadows created by our body or a puppet.
