Secondary school
Documentary Workshop Proposal for Schools during Girona, Temps de Flors.
A collective documentary production workshop aimed at providing participating schools with the basic tools and techniques to learn how to transform the stories of people, visitors, artists, and spaces involved in the Temps de Flors exhibition into images.
Each school group will film the stories, people, and spaces of Temps de Flors. Students will showcase their different perspectives on Temps de Flors.
The young filmmakers’ recordings will be inspired by the first films in history, which were filmed with the device invented by the Lumière Brothers, the cinematograph, which allowed them to capture the everyday life of their time. The films they made were single-shot, approximately one minute long, and filmed with a fixed camera.
Objectives
- Promote creative documentary practice as a means of individual expression for audiovisual education through collective workshops.
- Enable the group to use documentary filmmaking language, its narrative tools and basic techniques, and the values inherent in it: teamwork, persistence, patience, imagination, and sensitivity.
- Learn to observe reality attentively, think or intuit how to shape ideas, and discover a new way of relating to the world and others.
- Document the life of the Temps de Flors exhibition in different representative spaces of the exhibition through the eyes of young participants.
