Silent Cinema: Let's Play Charlot!

Activity where children will discover the language and expressiveness of silent cinema guided by Charles Chaplin.

A visit to the museum will allow us to experience the magic of cinema and understand the evolution of this fascinating art form, from its earliest performances to the present day. Afterwards, in the workshop, we will explore film production guided by Charles Chaplin and record a short silent film gag, in which the students will be the creators and actors of the entire shoot.

Objectives

- Familiarize students with the aesthetics and characteristics of early cinema: silent films, black and white, and pantomime acting.
- Spark interest in the history of cinema and one of its most popular filmmakers: Charles Chaplin.
- Understand the basic aspects and concepts of the evolution from still images to moving images.
- Identify audiovisual performances that preceded the emergence of cinema.
- Learn to respect and appreciate the museum's cultural heritage.
