Modified cinema projector, which was used in the former Teatro Cinema Albeniz in the city of Girona (Catalonia). The original part of the projector is from the 1920s and uses the film drag system, reels and foot or support base. It was made by the company ERKO (acronym for Erdmann & Korth) in Berlin, which specialised in the manufacture of large projectors for cinemas. Later, with the arrival of sound films, a mechanism was added to read the soundtrack, which was added to all films from the 1930s onwards. This mechanism is from the Catalan company SuperSond. Finally, the original lantern or lighting system was also replaced by a larger and more powerful one from the Catalan company OSSA (acronym for Orpheo Sincronic SA), which was a film sound equipment company founded in Barcelona in 1929. In 1940, this company was renamed Maquinaria Cinematográfica S.A., while retaining its original brand. Over the years, OSSA adapted to new projection technologies (Cinemascope, Vistavision...) and in the 1960s it had almost a monopoly on all projectors in cinemas in Spain.
