This curious living room projector for 35 mm films was the work of Charles Dupuis and was marketed by the Eclair company in 1913. Unlike the usual approach, the film moved horizontally and was illuminated by a vertical light source, whose rays, after passing through the film, were directed to a glass prism that bounced the images into the lens, which projected them onto the screen. The entire mechanism, as well as the prism, shutter and optics, was inside a box, which formed the base of the device. Eclair reached the third position in the French film industry, behind Pathé and Gaumont, especially thanks to the production of films, shot at its Epinay studios.
