Manufacturer | Jules Carpentier |
Name | Cinématographe Lumière. Projecteur modèle B |
Place | France |
Date | 1897 |
Register | 839 |
Built by the engineer Jules Carpentier, it was based on the same projection mechanism as the Cinématographe Lumière (1895). Suitably equipped with a projection lantern and an easel, this device could only project, which made it economically more affordable than the Cinématographe Lumière, which could both film and project. There were two models of this projector: model A, for films with Lumière perforations (a round perforation on both sides of each frame) and model B, for Edison perforations (four perforations on either side of the frame). A modified version of this projector was marketed by Pathé, as early as 1901, under the name Pathé Lumière.
