Title | "Cinématographe Lumière" |
Place | França |
Date | 1896 |

First poster announcing the public film sessions of the Lumière brothers in the Salon Indien of the Grand Café on the Boulevard des Capucines in Paris, which took place from 28 December 1895. The design of this poster is the work of the French painter Henri Brispot and you can see a lot of affluent people (the bourgeoisie, clergy, military...), queuing up in front of what looks like a box office. This poster was quickly replaced by a more explicit one, since it did not show what the cinematographer Lumière meant or offered.
