Apparatus to produce the thaumatrope effect. It consists of a handle and a toothed wheel, which rotate a metal plate in continuous motion with an image painted on each side: a parrot and a cage. By rotating the plate at high speed, the optical effect that occurs is that of seeing the parrot in the cage.
