Tabletop viewer for multiple stereoscopic photographs on glass plate. This device was developed by Jules Richard and the first patent dates from 1900. The first models were just called Stéréo Classeur, but the Taxiphote name was soon introduced. It was the most sophisticated stereoscopic viewer of its time. The Taxiphote was manufactured for thirty-five years and always offered the same capabilities and features, except for the internal mechanism, which was improved over the years. There were models for different photo formats. The device includes a drawer at the bottom for storing photographic plates, and the lenses are adjustable. This device is constructed of walnut wood and is for 45x107mm photographic plates. Due to its high price, Jules Richard later introduced a more affordable model, which he called Taxiphote Modèle Simplifié.
