Advertising flyer by Edward Simeon Hayden, a travelling daguerreotypist from Waterbury (Connecticut, United States), where he informs the inhabitants of a town that he is staying in a certain building or hotel. On this flyer, the spaces for the city name and building or hotel address have been left blank to accommodate changes of location. Hayden offers to make portraits "that will not be surpassed by any other, for their richness of tone and realistic appearance," and encourages all citizens who want a perfect portrait of themselves or their friends to go soon and to examine the samples he brings with him.
