Rare magic lantern for home use, produced by the German company Georg Carette & Co., which depicts a factory decorated with brick windows, door and chimney stack. Georg Carette, a Frenchman by birth, learned the secrets of making magical toy lanterns in the company of August Lapierre. Married to a German woman, in 1886 he moved to Nuremberg, where he founded his company for the manufacture of magic lanterns and tin toys, such as electric toy trams, locomotives, and steam engines, among others. At the outbreak of World War I, Carette returned to France, where he died in the nineteen twenties. One of his most elegant models is precisely Die Fabrik.
