This is one of the most embellished and worked-out models of the Lapierre factory, attractively polychromed with translucent alcohol varnishes. This model of lantern was of the lampascope type, so it used as a tabletop oil lamp as a light source. Its operation was very simple: the magic lantern, which has a hole in the base, was placed on an oil lamp or similar, and its lampshade was replaced. They were fitted with a long cylindrical flue and inside the apparatus, at the back, there was a reflector filled with sand to counterbalance the lens.
