Phantoscope or magic lantern for phantasmagoria shows. Judging by the quality of the finishes and materials, it is probably a device marketed by a company specialised in the manufacture of magic lanterns and scientific instruments in the second third of the nineteenth century. It is a model of phantoscope placed on a trestle with wheels and has an adjustable lens and diaphragm or cat's eye, but does not include other features typical of larger and more evolved phantoscope models, such as the possibility of projecting opaque bodies, or the adjustment of the mechanised lens with the trestle wheels (autofocus).
