“Five sequences to explain a masterpiece” is the starting point for this series of guided screenings. The speakers choose a film they regard as special and select five moments from the film. These excerpts are screened and analysed during the session. The cycle, merging the film forum and a talk, provides a chance to examine key works in the history of cinema and analyse them with the calm and detail they deserve.

Follow a week in the life of Llewyn Davis, a folk singer, as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles -- some of them of his own making.
