Shall we talk about cinema? is a film forum organised by the Museu del Cinema. It consists of ten annual sessions and reviews the history of the cinema through directors who have defined an era and influenced later generations.

In a small town in the American South, the arrival of Ben Quick, a young man with a troublesome reputation, disrupts the Varner family’s routine. Will Varner, the domineering patriarch, believes Ben could strengthen his business and tries to marry him off to his daughter Clara, who resists because she wants to choose her own future. As the townspeople distrust Ben, family tensions, jealousy, and long-kept secrets surface during an intense, sweltering summer, forcing everyone to confront power, love, and their own limits.
